How our pottery painting kits work

What is the process like?

Step 1: Place an order 

Order via this page based on the number of pax for your gathering and we’ll arrange for the kits to be delivered to you (one address only!).

Step 2: Paint your masterpiece

Gather your friends and family and let your creativity flow! Please note: kits are provided on a 2-week rental basis so that more people can enjoy the experience. 

☁️ Plates are delicate at this stage - handle it gently. Refer to this pottery painting guide for instructions, tips and paint colours provided!

Step 3: Take photos of your plates

Once you’re done painting, drop us a DM on Instagram with:

• a photo of your plates, 

• order number,

• name of recipient, 

• contact number of recipient, and

• mailing address. 

Alternatively, if you’d like to have each plate delivered to different addresses, send us individual photos of the plates and let us know each recipient’s name, contact and address! 

Step 4: Pack for pickup 

Give the brushes, palettes and sponges a rinse and allow the paint on the plates to dry for a few hours. Carefully pack the painted plates and all reusable materials (brushes, palettes, sponges) using the provided packing materials in the provided box.

Once you’re ready, let us know and we’ll arrange for pickup of the items.

Step 5: Sit back and wait!

Leave the rest to us—we’ll get busy glazing and firing your beautifully painted plates! This will take about 2-4 weeks.

Step 6: Delivery of the finished plate

Once the plates are ready, we’ll deliver them to you. Choose to have the final pieces sent to a single address or multiple addresses (up to the number of kits ordered). No extra delivery charges!

Each person will get

• 6” ceramic dessert plate x1

• 12 paint colours curated by Home With The Chans

• Paint brushes x2

• Palette x1

• Sponge x1/2

• Packing materials for return

• Reusable box for return

Is this kit kids-friendly?

Yes! All paints are non-toxic, water-based, and washable—safe for little hands and easy to clean. (Just no taste-testing, please 😅)

What you’ll need to prepare at home

To complete the experience, you may want to prepare:

• A cup of water for rinsing the paint brushes and wetting the sponges

• A pencil if you want to do some sketching before painting

• A reference image or some inspiration!

Delivery and Waiting Time

How long is the waiting time?

We’ll need time to glaze and fire your painted plates. Please kindly allow 2-4 weeks before we arrange the delivery of the final plates to you!

Can I choose the pickup to be from one address then deliver the fired plates to different addresses? Will there be any additional costs?

It’s compulsory for pickup to be from one address. Yes, it’s possible for us to deliver the fired plates to different addresses, up to the number of kits purchased. There will be no additional costs!

Care Instructions

Your plates are food safe after glazing and firing. To preserve their beauty and integrity:

• Handle with care to prevent chips and breakage

• Hand wash using mild soap and warm water

• Prevent thermal shock by avoiding sudden changes in temperature

• Do not soak or submerge in water for long periods
